Korea and Japan. Books and writing.
I lived in Japan as a child, then attended elementary, middle and high school in Korea. Later, I returned to Japan to study philosophy at Waseda University's School of Letters, Arts and Sciences I.
At university, I spent much of my time reading and writing. These days, I turn ideas into lyrics and look for the music and scenes that suit those words.
Giving ideas a concrete form.
At LOTTE HOTEL, I worked with customers, prepared training, reviewed legal matters, and worked on website and app redesigns. At SK D&D, I planned the business and operations for new residential services.
From names and presentation materials to the screens people would use, and the manuals and training needed on site. For a project to work in practice, these different parts had to fit together. My work was to connect them and give them shape.
Now, music and video.
AI has made it possible for me to try more things myself. As I started making music and images, then bringing them together in video, the scope of my work grew.
I listen for how the lyrics and music work together, then think about the scenes and movement that would fit. Making a short film gave me experience working with story, characters, sound and editing as a whole. I'm carrying what I learned into the music videos I make now.
I learn by making things.
I prefer to make something small first and understand it by looking at the result. Some things only become clear once I try them; sometimes I change the direction I first had in mind.
Even when a result falls short of what I hoped for, the methods and instincts I gained stay with me for the next project. I want to keep making things I'm curious about, and finding new things to be curious about as I make them.
I want to find something interesting and see what it can become.
